Dear Friends and Family!

I can’t believe the 2017 Pikes Peak Challenge is just over a month away! This year the Pikes Peak Challenge Summit Hike for Brain Injury Awareness is on Saturday, September 9. This will be the seventh year that I have participated in this wonderful event and I am very excited! As in years past, I will be hiking Barr Trail to the top of Pikes Peak. When I finish, I will have hiked 13 miles and climbed 7,400 vertical feet to the summit to join other hikers and supporters in celebration of brain injury awareness and prevention.

As I reflect on the past six years participating in this event, I am impressed with just how many people I know that have been affected by a Brain Injury. I have come to truly appreciate just how much our lives can be impacted by those around us who have suffered a traumatic brain injury. All of their stories are truly inspiring and motivating. They are a testament to the unconquerable human spirit and the difference that friends and family can make in overcoming adversity.

It is for these reasons that this particular event has come to mean so much to me. Each of you has been a part of something that I believe is truly noble and your love and support motivates me each year to hike again. Each of you has an incredible story and over the past six years we have created an amazing story together that I will always treasure. Every one of you has been truly inspiring to me and I cannot thank you enough or express how much this has meant!

I would encourage you to make a donation to this important cause. Every dollar raised makes a difference and is an important opportunity to help increase awareness. Whatever you feel you are able to contribute goes towards this end and I truly appreciate any help you can give.
