For over 30 years, the Pikes Peak Challenge has been the premier fundraising event for the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado (BIAC). Ann and I have been intimately involved in BIAC since Jon suffered his severe brain injury 12 years ago and this will be the 10th year that we have participated in the Pikes Peak Challenge. As a result of BIAC’s coordination of services and the people we have met in working with BIAC, during the last year Jon has attended math classes at a community college, has gone snowboarding at Winter Park and Breckenridge numerous times and will attend the BIAC summer camp at Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center for the 10th time. It was there the second year he went that Jon abandoned his wheel chair and has not been in it since.
