These are the faces of brain injury. These are the faces of those who fight through unimaginable mental and physical challenges. Imagine waking up in a different land, with people who speak a different language, and live a different life. Imagine the fear of learning to navigate through that unknown. That’s what many of these brave individuals take on every day. While no two brain injuries are the same, they do have a few things in common. They don’t fade or mend, they are always present, requiring brain injury survivors to navigate in a brand-new world as they fight to establish a new norm.
The Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado is the go-to resource for help and services for survivors of an injury to the brain, their families, and providers. Through guidance, resources, support, and education, BIAC seeks to engage with Coloradans in as they navigate the path of rehabilitation. Brain injuries are so prevalent and so devastating to not only the individual who had the injury, but also their families.
Funding is critical for us to continue to support survivors in our state which is why I am reaching out to my family and friends to share my exciting commitment to participate in the 2019 Pikes Peak Challenge Manitou Springs Walk. This fun-filled and exciting event raises awareness for the brain injury community, while at the same time empowers both supporters and survivors as we hike, walk or roll side-by-side. This event also inspires us to challenge our limits, our beliefs of what is possible, and to share stories of strength and hope.
Last year $225,000 was raised to support the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado! This year we hope to surpass that number. Can you help us reach our goal?
Please donate now and together we can make a huge impact for brain injury survivors and the entire brain injury community.
