Not only am I the proud wife of a veteran, I'm the proud wife of a brain injury survivor. During Luke's 3rd combat rotation to the Middle East, the vehicle he was in rolled over. He was ejected and 12 hours later showed signs of suffering a major stroke. Our friends and family know just how far he has come in his recovery and we are so grateful for the medical care and rehabilitation therapy he has received. I have chosen to complete the Pike Peak Challenge not only to hike my first 14er, but more importantly to raise funds for the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado.
