I am 46 years old and am working daily to define my new normal. Last year I started battling horrible fatigue and a drooping eye. An MRI in August found a meningioma (tumor) in my left sinus cavity, entwined in my carotid artery and pushing on my optical nerve and pituitary gland. The MRI also showed evidence of a previous stroke. I had surgery (through my sinuses) to remove what they could, but my carotid bled so the surgery turned into fixing that issue. Following the surgery, debris caused my left eye to go mostly blind (other than annoying double vision). I had a 2nd surgery five days later to remove what they could (not much) of the tumor, which also meant replacing my septum. It was a long, painful recovery followed by 5 weeks of daily radiation.
At this point, I am grateful to be alive and am convinced it's time to find a less stressful way of living! I still battle horrendous headaches and my sinuses are still healing, but hopefully the tumor is dead and shrinking more every day!
I appreciate your support in this very important campaign! Blessings to you all!
