Our son Jon suffered a severe anoxic brain injury in August 2005.  Ann and I have been committed to helping him and the brain injury community in Colorado.

Ten years later, Ann, Jon and I, along with a large number of other brain injury survivors, will again do the Pikes Peak Challenge Manitou Walk to support the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado (BIAC), of which Bill is past president. We will walk three miles around the picturesque town of Manitou Springs.  Bill previously did the 13 mile hike to the top of Pikes Peak three times in his 60s!

Doing this walk or the hike pales in comparison to what survivors of brain injuries face every day. Over 200,000 individuals live with the effects of a brain injury in Colorado and 5,000 new cases are reported every year?

The Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado is dedicated to serving individuals affected by all forms of injuries to the brain such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, tumor, anoxia and infection.  BIAC’s mission is to improve the quality of life for survivors and their loved ones by connecting them with resources to help navigate the path of rehabilitation.
