Friends,
I am honored to have recently joined the board of the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado (BIAC), which is doing tremendous work on behalf of thousands of brain injury survivors each year. As a survivor of brain injury myself, I know too well the many life challenges following a TBI. However, I also know first-hand just how possible it is to have a GREAT life following a sever brain injury. Unfortunately for many in this situation they aren’t as blessed as I was with the love and support of family and resources to pursue a healthy recovery. That is where BIAC comes in.
I am reaching out at this time to share my exciting commitment to participate in the 2018 Pikes Peak Challenge. This event raises awareness for the brain injury community, while at the same time empowers both supporters and survivors as we hike, walk or roll side-by-side. Last year $275,000 was raised to support BIAC and this year we hope to surpass that number and raise $300,000. Can you help us reach our goal?
When I finish, I will have hiked 13 miles and 7,400 vertical feet to the 14,110 foot summit of Pikes Peak – A feat I accomplished back in 2005. I have traveled many miles in my journey since then. I am so grateful to so many who have been a part of that journey. Even more impressive than this challenge, is the courage and strength it takes for a survivor to overcome day to day struggles that come with a life of living with an injury to the brain. I will hike for them – those who aren’t sure they will get through today, because I believe in the human spirit and the ability to overcome the impossible.
I would be honored if you considered making a donation to BIAC. Thank you.
